AUCTION ALERT – FCC Auction 113 – AWS-3
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is set to hold Auction 113, which will offer 200 licenses in the AWS-3 bands (1695-1710 MHz, 1755-1780 MHz, and 2155-2180 MHz). This auction presents a significant opportunity for providers to acquire spectrum for fixed or mobile services, with bidding scheduled to begin on June 2, 2026.
Interested parties must act quickly: The deadline to submit short-form applications (FCC Form 175) is February 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM (ET). Applications must be filed through the FCC’s new Auction Application System (AAS), which replaces the legacy system for improved efficiency and security.
To participate:
- Ensure you have an FCC Username associated with an FCC Registration Number (FRN) in the Commission’s Registration System (CORES).
- Grant appropriate Third-party Auctions Permissions for your FRN.
- Submit a sufficient upfront payment by April 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM ET.
The spectrum is divided into blocks with varying bandwidths (5-20 MHz) and geographic areas (Economic Areas and Cellular Market Areas). Eligible small businesses and rural service providers may qualify for bidding credits to reduce costs.
